Getting started

Who is Krystal Capitals?

Krystal Capitals is the Nagpur firm behind this app. Here you can open a mutual fund account, invest in Regular plans and track your investments, with a team you can call or message when you need help. About us

Do I need a demat account?

No. Mutual fund units are held in your name by the fund house and its registrar (CAMS or KFintech). You don't need a demat or trading account to invest here.

Who can invest through this app?

Resident Indian individuals aged 18 or over, who are tax resident in India only, with a PAN and completed KYC, investing in their own name.

Accounts for minors, NRIs, joint holders, HUFs and companies can't be opened online here yet; we'll help another way.

I haven't done KYC. Can I still invest?

This app uses your existing KYC. New to KYC? We'll help on WhatsApp before you start.

What does it cost to invest through Krystal Capitals?

We charge no separate fee. We earn a trail commission from the fund house on Regular plans, as the next answer explains.

Why does the app offer only Regular plans?

As a mutual fund distributor we offer Regular plans, and the commission we earn is built into their expense ratio. Direct plans don't pay a distributor and have a lower expense ratio; you can buy them directly from the fund house or through other platforms. We explain the difference openly so you can choose.

Already invest with Krystal Capitals?

What if my details don't match?

You'll see: "Your details don't match your registered investment account. Contact Krystal Capitals to update your registered mobile/email." For your safety, the account can't be linked, and our team can't override this check.

It usually means the mobile or email on your investment account is old or different. We'll help you update it; once the change is made on your account at NSE, try linking again. If you signed up here with a different email, change your login email to the registered one first.

Why must my own email and mobile be on my investment account?

Codes, confirmations and fund-house messages go to the contacts on your account, so they must be yours. If your account carries a family member's contacts, or a Krystal Capitals email or phone number, it can't be linked online until it's updated to your own. We'll help you do that.

Your login and security

Why do I have to verify my email when I sign up?

We send login codes, order updates and security notices to your email, so we confirm the address is really yours before your login is created. Enter the 6-digit code we email you to finish signing up.

Why do you email me a code every time I log in?

After your password, we email a 6-digit code to your verified email each time you log in. It keeps your account safe even if someone learns your password. The code works once and expires after a few minutes.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Choose Forgot password on the login page. We'll email a 6-digit code to your login email; enter it and choose a new password. For your safety, we'll also sign you out on your other devices.

Will Krystal Capitals ever ask for my OTP or password?

Never. Krystal Capitals will never ask for your OTP or password on a call, SMS or WhatsApp. If someone does, don't share it, and tell us.

Payments and orders

How do I pay, and where does my money go?

You approve and pay for each order on NSE's secure page. Your money goes through NSE's mutual fund platform to the fund house, never to Krystal Capitals, and the units are allotted in your name.

When will the units show in my portfolio?

Units are allotted after the fund house receives your money, usually within a few business days. They appear in your portfolio once NSE confirms the allotment; we check NSE for updates regularly through the day.

I've paid, but my order still shows as in progress. Why?

Payments take time to reach the fund house, and the order updates when NSE confirms each step. If an order is still in progress after two business days, tell us the fund name and the date you paid.

SIPs and AutoPay

What's the smallest SIP I can start?

Many funds accept SIPs from ₹500 a month, but the minimum varies by scheme. Each fund's page shows its minimum.

What is AutoPay, and why do I need it?

AutoPay is a one-time instruction to your bank that lets SIP instalments be debited automatically. You set it up once, approve it with your bank, and it can cover all your SIPs up to the limit you choose.

Can I stop or change a SIP?

You can cancel a SIP anytime from the SIPs page. There's no penalty for stopping a SIP, and the units you already hold stay invested. To change the amount, cancel it and start a new SIP, or message us for help.

What happens if a SIP instalment fails?

If your bank balance is short on the debit date, that instalment is skipped and your bank may charge a fee. After repeated failed instalments the fund house may cancel the SIP, so keep enough balance before your SIP date.

Withdrawals, taxes and statements

How do I withdraw (redeem) my money?

Open the fund from your portfolio, choose Redeem, and approve on NSE's secure page. The fund house pays the money to the bank account registered on your investment account, usually within a few business days. Some funds charge an exit load if you redeem early, and ELSS funds have a 3-year lock-in.

How are mutual fund gains taxed?

Capital gains are taxed when you redeem, and the rate depends on the type of fund and how long you held it. Tax rules change from time to time, so please consult your tax adviser about your situation. ELSS funds offer a tax deduction under Section 80C (old tax regime).

Where can I get an official statement of my investments?

Your Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) from CAMS, KFintech or MF Central is the official record of all your mutual fund holdings. This app shows the investments made through Krystal Capitals on NSE.

Safety, privacy and complaints

Is my money safe with Krystal Capitals?

Mutual funds are regulated by SEBI, which sets the rules that fund houses and their registrars must follow. Where your money and units go is under Payments and orders.

What do you do with my personal details?

We use them to open and run your investment account, meet legal requirements and keep your account secure. We share them only with the organisations needed to do that, such as NSE, the fund houses and their registrars, and the KYC agencies. Our privacy policy has the details.

How do I raise a complaint?

See grievance redressal: who to contact first, and how to escalate if you're not satisfied with our reply.

I'm an NRI. Can I invest here?

Not online yet (see who can invest, under Getting started). If we help you invest another way, note that some fund houses don't accept investors resident in the US or Canada.
